Whether you call it Valentine’s, Galentine’s or Palentine’s… 14th February is nearly here and I’ve been having lots of fun creating some super cute heart nail designs for my London mobile manicure clients 💕

The original plan for my own nails was pink cat eye with red hearts. I did the pink… and just wasn’t feeling the hearts. So, because I already had red on the brush, I tried some red stripes instead. Loved them at first… then stepped back and thought… nope. Too Christmassy! Very chic festive wrapping paper vibes 😂

What I really wanted to do was big gold chrome heart outlines on every nail, but it was getting late, I’d only done my left hand (WHY do I never start with my right when I’m right-handed?!) and using your non-dominant hand for nail art is not the one. So silver hearts it was, quicker and easier, and actually… I was super chuffed with how they turned out.

When I showed one of my clients she said, “Ah great, I was going to ask for hearts!” Then her husband shouted from across the room, “Don’t get hearts, they are SO chavy!”

After that comment we absolutely doubled down and did hearts on every nail 💅 (Disclaimer – he’s actually lovely and was mortified when he realised he might have offended me!)

I’ve also done pink and purple stripes with red hearts which are perfect for now but will look gorgeous right through spring. Last year everyone was obsessed with polka dots, this year I’m definitely seeing more stripes coming through.

Another recent set I loved was black with pink cat eye and a wavy magnet. Not Valentine’s themed at all but SO gorgeous. I love it when clients trust me (and the process!) and try something a little different.
