It’s January 2026! OK, I know January is nearly done, but wishing you all a belated happy new year!! 🎉I had a wonderful Christmas with some actual time off, which was very much needed, and now it feels so good to be back doing what I love best!
As hard as it is saying goodbye to all the Christmas nail sets, there’s something really refreshing about starting the year with a clean slate. I’ve personally gone for a nude cat-eye to kick things off. I do notice that when I have a colour on, people tend to go for it too. I’m not saying I’m a trendsetter or anything 😉 but I genuinely think it’s because seeing a colour on a real hand helps you visualise it properly.
This is something I notice a lot when I’m out and about doing manicures in London. Swatches are great, even if mine are super long and slightly intimidatingly pointy, but seeing shades in real life, on an actual hand, really does make a difference. It helps clients choose colours with confidence, especially when I’m bringing the salon experience straight to your home or workplace.
I’m not one for strict New Year’s resolutions, but this year I really want to push myself and learn how to use an e-file. I mentioned this briefly on Instagram last year and it caused a bit of confusion, so let me explain properly. An e-file is often called a drill, although drills are for walls and e-files are for nails! It’s an electronic file used mainly to safely debulk gel before soaking off, which means far less manual filing and a much happier arm for me.
Years ago, e-files had a bad reputation and could cause damage when used incorrectly. Since then, education and techniques have come a long way, and when used properly, they’re amazing. It will mean carrying a bit more kit to my mobile manicure appointments, including a dust extractor, but it’ll be completely worth it. I’ll be practising lots on myself and on any willing friends, and I won’t be offering this to clients until I’m 100 percent confident and comfortable.
Another thing still on my wish list is learning reflexology. It would go hand in hand, or hand in foot, with what I already do, pun fully intended. I think it would be a lovely addition to my London mobile nails service in the future, but one thing at a time!
Enough about me though, let’s talk about you. What would you love to see from Nails by Natalie Rose in 2026? More nail art, new colours, different styles, or new treatments added to my mobile manicure service? I’m always open to ideas and suggestions.
I have a really good feeling about this year, and I can’t wait to see what 2026 brings!
Peace, love and sparkles ✨💅
